Opening and saving your maps

PTMapper has 2 ways to open maps and 2 ways to save them.

Opening Maps

  1. Click on File and then Open Map, then browse to you map and select Open
  2. Click on File and then choose from the list of maps that have been recently opened.

NOTE: you can double click on a map file to open it, but each time that you do this it will start another version of PTMapper. If you plan to cut and paste information between two maps then this will not work unless both maps are open in one version of PTMapper.

Saving Maps

  1. Click on File and then Save Map. This will save (i.e. overwrite) the current map.
  2. Click on File and then Save As. This allows you to save a copy of your current map with a different file name. When you use this option the original map is closed without saving – all the changes thqat you made are saved to the second copy map. You can also use this option to save an exact copy of a map, without making any changes first.
